Name? Isabelle
Current age? 19
Diet? I'm on the anti-inflammatory diet. To put it simply, I avoid all sugar, wheat, processed foods, high sodium foods and certain vegetables.
Why? Unfortunately I have chronic inflammation in my knees. I developed patellar tendonitis in the summer of '13 and while the tendonitis has gotten better, the swelling has not. The swelling causes additional pain to the little bit of tendonitis that I still have left. With my diet I avoid all pro inflammatory foods that could potentially make the swelling worse. Since I have started my diet I have most definitely noticed a change in not only my knees but my over all health. I look forward to continuing this diet even when I have completely gotten rid of my tendonitis. I eat as much of this healthy food as I want without worrying about calories. My goal is not to lost weight but to keep in top shape.
Exercise routine? As a ballet dancer I am exercising 6 days a week. I am in the studio dancing every day by 9 AM sharp. The classes are very high intensity. I take four 90 minute classes a day with a few 45 minute breaks. At night I do a stretching session and a brief ab workout that usually lasts about 10 minutes.
Where do I live? I'm currently living in Toronto, Ontario. Before this I was living in New York, New York. Before that I was living in my birthplace, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a ballet dancer I move around a lot. I don't know where I will be living next year.
Work? Ballet dancer
Favorite food? I have never been able to answer this question and I don't think I ever will. I love all food equally, no matter what shape or size.
Favorite ballet? Giselle
What inspires me? I'm a very visual person so anything that I find beautiful. In a twisted way I think there's beauty in everything. I'm inspired by nature, people, visual arts, music, animals, colors, the list goes on.
